Custom Perfume Blending Dubai
Translate your brand's identity into an unforgettable olfactory experience. Scent Bazaar's expert perfumers formulate bespoke fragrances from the ground up for private labels, luxury hotels, and exclusive retail lines.
How Is a Bespoke Fragrance Created in Dubai?
In a saturated perfume market, a unique signature scent is the ultimate differentiator. As the authority on custom perfume blending in Dubai, Scent Bazaar goes beyond simply supplying pre-mixed wholesale oils. We design entirely new olfactory compositions tailored to your exact specifications.
The creation process begins in our Deira laboratory. You will sit down with our senior evaluators to discuss your target demographic, desired emotion, and key notes. Our perfumers then construct multiple "mods" (modifications) by balancing top notes (citrus, fruits) for the initial hook, heart notes (florals, spices) for the core identity, and heavy base notes (woods, musks, oud) for lasting projection.
We refine the formula iteratively until it perfectly matches your vision, securing the intellectual property of the final formula strictly for your brand.

Who Uses Custom Blending?
Our custom blending services extend far beyond traditional Eau de Parfum launches. We formulate signature scents for a variety of industries across the UAE.
- Niche Perfume Brands: Launching a new line of Extrait de Parfums that requires a completely original profile, distinct from massive commercial releases.
- Luxury Hotel Branding: Scent marketing is powerful. We formulate ambient environmental scents used in lobby HVAC diffusers, creating an instant memory link for guests.
- Boutique Retailers: Creating a signature scent for a boutique's interior that can also be sold as a localized room spray or scented candle to returning customers.
How Do You Move From a Custom Blend Into Full Production?
Creating the custom fragrance formula is only the first step. The true advantage of working with Scent Bazaar is our ability to transition your bespoke scent immediately into mass production.
Once the formula is finalized, we produce the bulk raw oil required for your production run. Because we are a fully integrated facility, we can immediately begin mixing the delicate perfume concentrate with our premium perfumers alcohol to allow for the maceration (aging) process.
We then seamlessly move your newly created signature scent into our private label bottling lines, utilizing the glass hardware you selected from our inventory, creating a truly effortless development cycle.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does it take to create a custom fragrance?
The timeline depends on the complexity of the fragrance brief and the number of revision rounds required before you reach a formula you are happy with. Initial concept samples — typically two or three distinct directions based on your brief — are ready within 2 to 3 weeks of your first consultation. From there, each revision round takes approximately 1 to 2 weeks, including maceration time to allow the fragrance to settle and fully express itself. Most clients reach a final approved formula within 6 to 8 weeks of starting the project. Once the formula is locked, production of the minimum 5kg concentrate batch takes a further 1 to 2 weeks. If you are planning a product launch with a fixed date, we recommend beginning the custom blending process at least 3 months in advance to allow sufficient time for development, production, and packaging.
Can you 'clone' an existing perfume if it is discontinued?
Yes. We offer a fragrance reconstruction service for discontinued or unavailable perfumes. The process combines GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) analytical technology, which breaks down a sample fragrance into its constituent aroma compounds by molecular weight, with the trained nose of our lead perfumer Nawar Mohammed to interpret and rebuild the formula using available raw materials. The result is not always a perfect molecular replica — some natural or discontinued raw materials cannot be sourced exactly — but we are able to recreate discontinued fragrances to a very high degree of olfactive accuracy. This service is used by brands whose best-selling fragrance has been discontinued by the original supplier, by retailers wanting to relaunch a heritage scent under their own brand, and by private clients seeking to recover a personal favourite that is no longer in production. A sample of the original fragrance must be provided to begin the process.
Do I own the rights to the custom fragrance formula?
Yes. When you commission a fully bespoke fragrance formulation through Scent Bazaar, the intellectual property of the final approved formula belongs entirely to your brand. We record the formula under your account and do not sell, licence, share, or replicate it for any other client. This exclusivity is a fundamental part of the bespoke blending service and is what distinguishes it from selecting a ready-made oil from our catalogue. The formula can only be produced by us on your authorisation, and if you ever wish to transfer production to another manufacturer, we can provide the formula documentation to you. We formalise this arrangement in writing before the project begins, so both parties are clear on the terms of ownership and exclusivity from the outset. This level of IP protection is particularly important for luxury fragrance brands and hospitality clients building proprietary signature scents.
What is the minimum order quantity for a custom scent?
Once your bespoke formula has been approved and signed off, the minimum production order is 5kg of the pure fragrance oil concentrate. This minimum exists because custom formulation involves significant laboratory time from our lead perfumer, the sourcing of specific raw aroma chemicals and natural extracts, and the cost of producing and macerating multiple sample iterations throughout the development process. Five kilograms of concentrate is sufficient to produce approximately 25 litres of Eau de Parfum (at a 20% concentration) or around 50 litres of Eau de Toilette — enough to fill several hundred finished retail bottles depending on your chosen size. For clients who proceed from custom blending directly into private label production, the 5kg concentrate forms the basis of the first manufacturing run, with no additional minimum required for the bottling and packaging stage.
Do I need prior fragrance knowledge to begin a custom blending project?
No prior fragrance knowledge is required. The majority of our custom blending clients are entrepreneurs, retailers, hoteliers, and brand owners with strong commercial instincts but no formal perfumery training, and this is entirely normal. Our lead perfumer Nawar Mohammed — a chemical engineer with deep expertise in fragrance chemistry — is experienced at translating non-technical briefs into precise formulas. You do not need to know the difference between a top note and a base note to give us a useful brief. Descriptions such as "warm and woody like a luxury hotel lobby", "fresh and clean like a linen cupboard", or "rich and smoky in the style of an Arabian souk" give us everything we need to begin. We handle all the chemistry, material selection, and technical refinement; your role is simply to evaluate samples and tell us what you love and what you want changed.
Can you create custom fragrances for non-spray applications like candles and body care?
Yes. Our custom blending service covers bespoke fragrance development for every application format, not just spray perfumes. For candle fragrances, we engineer the oil to achieve strong cold and hot throw in your specific wax type — soy, paraffin, coconut, or beeswax — while ensuring flash point safety for the pour temperature you use. For reed diffusers, we optimise viscosity and evaporation rate for consistent room scent diffusion. For body care, we formulate to skin-safe concentration levels within cosmetic-grade guidelines, suitable for body lotions, scrubs, shower gels, and hair care. For soap — both melt-and-pour and cold-process — we account for alkaline stability so the scent survives saponification. Each application has distinct technical requirements, and our perfumer formulates within those parameters from the outset rather than adapting a spray perfume oil after the fact.
How many revision rounds are included in the custom blending process?
Our standard custom blending engagement includes up to three formal revision rounds following the initial concept presentation. In the first round, we present two or three distinct fragrance directions based on your brief. You evaluate the samples, provide feedback on what you like or dislike about each, and select a direction to develop further. Each subsequent revision refines the chosen formula — adjusting the balance of top, heart, and base notes, increasing or reducing longevity, modifying projection strength, or shifting the overall character based on your feedback. Each revision sample is macerating for a minimum of one week before being sent, ensuring you evaluate the settled, fully-developed fragrance rather than a raw mix. If additional rounds are needed beyond three, these are available at a nominal lab fee. In practice, most clients arrive at their final approved formula within two or three revisions.
Can you develop a fragrance for a hotel or hospitality brand?
Yes. Hospitality scent marketing is one of the strongest areas of our custom blending practice. A well-chosen signature scent is one of the most powerful tools available to a hotel for shaping guest perception, reinforcing brand positioning, and creating a memorable sensory experience that guests associate exclusively with your property. We develop bespoke signature fragrances for hotel lobbies, guest rooms, spa and wellness facilities, restaurants, and branded amenity products — shampoos, body wash, hand lotion, and soap. Each application format is formulated differently: lobby scents are typically delivered as HVAC diffuser concentrates or large-format reed diffusers; guest room scents as room sprays or electric diffuser oils; spa scents as massage oils or bath preparations. We have developed proprietary scent identities for luxury hospitality brands across the GCC and internationally. The entire process, from brief to finished product, is handled in-house at our Deira facility.
What information do I need to provide to brief a custom fragrance?
The richer your brief, the more precisely we can target the fragrance direction from the first round of samples. The most useful information to provide includes: reference fragrances you admire — even if they are not exact targets, they indicate your general direction; scent families you want to include (woody, floral, citrus, oriental, aquatic, gourmand) or specifically avoid; your target customer demographic and the markets you sell into; the application format (spray perfume, oil attar, candle, diffuser, body care); and your brand's overall aesthetic, personality, and positioning. Emotional or atmospheric descriptions are also genuinely helpful — "the feeling of walking through a souk at dusk", "a cold morning in a cedar forest", or "warm skin after a day in the sun" all give our perfumer meaningful direction. You are also welcome to bring physical scent references to your consultation at our Souq Naif showroom. We will translate everything into a formal technical brief before work begins.
Do you offer a scent identity service for corporate brands?
Yes. Corporate scent branding is a significant and growing part of our custom blending practice. A brand's scent identity — deployed consistently across all physical touchpoints — is as powerful and distinctive as its visual identity, and creates emotional associations that visual branding alone cannot achieve. We work with retailers, real estate developers, hospitality groups, airlines, and luxury consumer brands to develop proprietary signature scents that are formulated exclusively for their use. These are then produced as HVAC diffuser concentrates for large commercial spaces, room sprays for front-of-house environments, scented products for gifting or amenity ranges, and branded retail fragrances. We manage the entire process: creative brief, fragrance development, formula exclusivity, production, and ongoing supply. Because the formula is wholly owned by your brand, the scent identity remains yours indefinitely and can be reproduced at scale whenever required.
Can the custom fragrance be scaled into full private label production?
Yes — and for most clients, this is the natural and intended progression of the custom blending service. Once your bespoke formula is approved and the initial 5kg concentrate batch is produced, we can move directly into full private label manufacturing without any break in the process. This means blending the concentrate with pharmaceutical-grade perfumers alcohol to your specified concentration — Eau de Parfum, Eau de Toilette, or pure parfum — then filling into your chosen glass bottles from our catalogue, crimping or capping, applying your custom labels, and packing into outer boxes or cartons ready for retail or export. All compliance documentation — MSDS, COA, allergen declarations, and DG shipping paperwork — is prepared as part of the production package. The entire journey, from a blank brief through custom formulation to a shelf-ready branded product shipped to over 50 countries, is managed entirely in-house at Scent Bazaar's Deira facility.
